Transfers also outside the region for animals

With specific reference to the transport of animals, all those connected to the activities permitted by the DPCM of 26 April 2020 are authorized, as well as all those motivated by need to protect animal health and welfare. The movements allowed, even at extra-regional level, are those suitable for allowing the proper performance of training activities of professional and non-professional athletes.
As regards the sporting and recreational activities, in fact, the movement of equines is allowed, allowing owners and carers access to sports clubs and riding stables. Similarly, recreational sports activities involving dogs can also take place.

The legitimacy of all planned movements, both of animals stuck in the two months of lockdown and of those that will be necessary in the future, is supported by two orders of justification:

• it is attributable to activities that the Prime Ministerial Decree of April 26, 2020 has not suspended;
• it is motivated by the need to protect animal health and welfare.
